WILLBURG AND NEMETH FIRST TIME WINNERS. ZRINSKI BACK
IN VICTORY LANE AS BORGERS 2012 SEASON DRAWS TO A CLOSE...

bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., November 17th, 2012:
On this last race of the 2012 racing season Ed Wilburg Sr., and
Ray Nemeth made their way to Borgers Speedway victory lane for
the first time and Don Zrinski ended a stellar 2012 racing
season doing the same.
Ed Wilburger Sr. said it was about 18 years since he saw victory
lane at Limerock Speedway but his patience all year paid off
gaining his first Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint
win over Carol Shire. Wilburg led every lap of the caution free
race.
Ray Nemeth won in All-star Slingshot competition on the dirt at
Borgers but today would be his first stop in victory lane on the
asphalt. Nemeth led every lap to take th win over Ton Hennessey,
Bill Kelschner, Doug Snyder, Mike Lipicki, and Mike Moyer.
Last week Don Zrinski was robbed of a win by Rob Vivona when for
the first time ever Zrinski ran out of fuel a few laps from the
finish while leading the Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600
Sprints at Borgers Speedway. Today Zrinski made sure he had
enough fuel as he notched another win in spectacular style.
Zrinski
led the field to turn one followed by Mike Tidaback and Rob
Vivona. By lap two Vivona made the pass on Tidaback with his
sights set on Zrinski. Soon a torrid three car battle for the
lead developed between Zrinski, Vivona, and Tidaback. By the
half way mark Matt Janmisch and Jason Hentrich entered the
picture hooking up with the leaders. As the battle raged on in
the closing lap Tidaback moved into second spot but did not have
enough for the high flying Zrinski. Zrinski too the win followed
by Tidaback, Vivona, Janisch, Hentich, Mark Rogers, Kyle Lear,
and Ken Andreas.
With the last checkered flag falling on the 2012 racing season
at Borgers Speedway the speedway will not remain dark. Saturday
November 24 Borgers Speedway will hold an open paid practice
session from
11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A $20 pit pass will be charged for
anyone entering the pits while grandstand admission will be
free. There will be no entry fee for racecars and any division
of cars is welcome.

ARNTZ MAKES IT 3, VIVONA SWEEPS DIRT 600'S & TQ'S,
VANVAULKENBURG WIN NUMBER 2 AS BORGERS SEASON NEARS AN END.

Bob Snyder
bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., November 11th, 2012:
Making the switch to Asphalt proved to be a wise choice for Tom
Arntz as he cruised to his third All-star Slingshot win of the
late season at Borgers Speedway. Arntz led every lap as Mike
Lapicki and Ray Nemeth diced back and forth for second spot with
Lapicki coming out on top. Lapicki was second followed by Nemeth
and Tom Hennessey,
Rob Vivona led every lap of the Hoosier Racing tires Wingless
Dirt 600 Sprint feature over Ken Andreas, Sheldon Iudicello, and
Carol Shire.
In what proved to be another thriller Rob Vivona captured the
Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 feature. Rob Vivona led the
pack to turn one followed by Austin Fehr and Tim Buckwalter.
Buckwalter made the pass on Fehr for second one lap later as Don
Zrinski entered the picture. As Vivona opened a slight lead a
three car battle for second developed between Buckwalter, Fehr ,
and Zrinski. Buckwalter and Fehr tangled in turn two setting up
a lap six restart. With Zrinski on Vivona’s tail the two raced
side by side and Zrinski took the lead on lap eight. While all
this was going on Jason Hentrich made his presence known
blasting into third spot. With Hentrich coming on like a
hurricane the second three car battle of the evening took place
but this time it was for the lead. Making a daring outside pass
on lap sixteen Vivona grabbed the lead with Zrinski and Hentrich
both in striking distance. With three laps to go Zrinski broke
bringing out the yellow and setting up a three lap shoot out
between Vivona and Hentrich. As the green flag waved Hentrich
put intense pressure on Vivona and it looked like Hentrich would
make it win number three but ran out of laps. Vivona took the
checkered flag followed by Hentrich, Tim buckwalter, Austin
Fehr, Danny Drinan. Don Zrinski, Ed Willburger Sr., Blu Metz,
and
Chad Parks.
Evan Vanvaulkenburg won the Junior Slingshot feature.
Saturday November 17 will be the Borgers Speedway season finale.

Saylorsburg, PA., November 2nd, 2012:
With the aftermath and devastation of Hurricane Sandy and frigid
weather conditions speedway owner Glenn Borger knew he would
take a beating by racing this cold November Saturday afternoon
but his feelings were the loss would be well worth it by giving
the racing community a brief opportunity to take their minds off
what had happened this past week in the Northeast. The family at
Borgers Speedway wishes to extend their Thoughts and Prayers to
all those affected by this epic disaster. Many of our loyal
racers and fans are from the
New Jersey and shore points that were so savagely affected
by this storm and to them we send well wishes for a safe and
rapid recovery.
While the weather outside was frightful Jason
Hentrich had his own cure in mind for the warmth of his second
win of the season in Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600
Sprints. Steadily improving each week Jason has risen to “Super
Star” status in the last two months. Finishing third in
OctoberFest points and grabbing a win two weeks ago Jason scored
his second win in a very convincing manner.
At the drop of the green it was Hentrich, Tim
Buckwalter and Jonathon Cortright to turn one but by the time
they reached turn three it was Buckwalter in the lead.
Immediately Buckwalter made it known that he was the man to beat
but Hentrich had other ideas. As the two front runners set a
blistering pace Don Zrinski was burning up the track from his
fifth place starting spot getting by Mark Yoder and Cortright on
lap five. With Buckwalter and Hentrich fighting for the lead and
Zrinski coming on strong Buckwalter broke with three laps to go.
On the restart Hentrich now had to worry about Zrinski who was
not letting grass grow under his feet and Cortright who was
right on Zrinski’s tail. As the checkered flag waved it was
Hentrich in for his second win followed by Zrinski, and in his
best run of the season Cortright third, followed by Yoder and
Austin Fehr.
Two weeks ago Mark Yoder won his first Hoosier
Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint feature along with
Hentrich winning the TQ feature. This week the pair did the same
with Yoder winning his second Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint feature
followed by Hentrich winning the TQ’s.
Yoder led every lap of the feature followed by
Sheldon Iudicello in his first appearance on asphalt second.
David Beiler who has been steadily improving each week finished
third.
Tom Arntz has sure taken a liking to the
Borgers Asphalt taking his second win of the season in the
shadow of his All-star Slingshot Tour win on October 13. Mike
Lapicki started on the pole and led the first eleven go rounds
followed by Tom Arntz and Danny Buccafusca. As Lapicki held the
lead a battle rpyale was brewing behind him with Arntz and
Buccafusca. Lap tree Buccafusca got by Arntz with his sights set
on Lapicki. A lap later Arntz was back in second setting up a
three car battle for the lead. Lap twelve Arntz made the move on
Lapicki to take the lead with buccafusco nailing second a lap
later. A hard clean fought battle between Arntz and Buccafusca
proved that good racers can battle side by side at Borgers. At
the end it was Arntz edging out Buccafusca followed by Lapacki,
Billy Kelschner, and Scott Washburn.
Scott Washburn won the Hoosier Racing Tires
XCEL 600 Modified main over Mike Odwazny, Richie Hitzler, BJ
Sherk, and Tim VanHorn.
Next week will be the final week of regular
scheduled racing for 2012 at Borgers Speedway. We will be
running a full schedule of Karts, MicroStocks, Quarter Midget,
TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints, Dirt Wingless 600 Sprints, All-star
Slingshots, and XCEL 600 Modifieds. Starting time will be
1:00 p.m. The 4:00 p.m. starting time for the
big cars is no longer in affect.
November 17 is the Borgers Speedway Starz Of
Tomorrow Quarter Midget Nationals which will be the final race
of the 2012 season.
Borgers
Speedway banquet will be held December 15 at the garage. $20 per
ticket includes a meal and beverage. If you are receiving an
award for regular season points you must be present to receive
your award. This does not include OctoberFest Series awards
which will be awarded whether you attend the banquet or not. I
will post a list of the regular season award winner this week.
With the storm I was delayed getting the
information to Glenn for the OctoberFest checks and trophies.
Checks will be available to the top five finishers in Dirt 600
Sprints, TQ’s, and All-stars Slingshots. If you are not present
next week a check will be mailed to you. I will also post a list
for these awards. If you cannot make it next week send me your
name and address to
bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Kart point champions will receive trophies which can be picked
up at the garage.
Two January 2013 paid practice dates will be announced shortly.
Special
thanks go to speedway electrician Jim Silfee who rewired the
entire scoring system and track loop during the past week. The
scoring system worked to perfection and no further problems are
anticipated.

BORGERS ASPHALT OCTOBERFEST 2012

bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., October 27th, 2012:
Three weeks
ago Dylan Hoch came to Borgers Speedway to prepare for the
Junior Slingshot Nationals. After a pair of third place finishes
including the Junior National Tour race Dylan decided to give
the All-Star Slingshots a try for the final race of Green Flag
OctoberFest 2012.
Little did Dylan know how right that move would be. The thirteen
year old did the impossible beating a field of some of the best
All-Star Slingshot racers at Borgers Speedway. Hurricane
Sandy could be
cast as a mere summer breeze compared to the storm that Dylan
unleashed on the field of Borgers Slingshots.
At the drop of the green it was Al Hauptman leading the pack to
turn one with Dylan Hoch and Tom Arntz glued to his rear bumper.
Immediately Hoch put pressure on Hauptman with Arntz in striking
distance waiting for a slip up by the two front runners. After
five laps of intense racing by the top three Hoch made the move
to take the lead from Hauptman on lap six. To make matters worse
2012 OctoberFest Champion Kurt Bettler now joined the hunt by
the halfway point. With Hauptman, Arntz, and Bettler breathing
down his neck Dylan hit his mark lap after lap never missing a
beat. As the checkered flag waved Dylan Hoch had just done the
impossible with the biggest upset of the 2012 racing season at
Borgers storming into victory lane. Hauptman was second followed
by Arntz, Bettler, and Ryan Raidline.
He won the season opener back on April 28 and now he won the
closing OctoberFest race in Hoosier Racing tires TQ/Asphalt 600
Sprints. Mike Tidaback had an entire season between wins but
this win was just as spectacular as the first. At the drop of
the green it was Tidaback to turn one with Rob Vivona grabbing
second spot from Jason Hentrich. Vivona immediately took chase
on Tidaback with Hentrich and Don Zrinski bringing up the rear.
Driving a masterful race with Vivona on his tail the entire
twenty five laps Tidaback never gave an inch and screamed to win
number two followed by Vivona, Hentrich, Zrinski, and Mark
Yoder.
Rob Vivona led every lap of the nonstop Hoosier Racing tires

WINNERS....
BETTLER CLINCHES CHAMPIONSHIP....

bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., October 20th, 2012:
Green Flag
Driving Experience Borgers Asphalt OctoberFest 2012 round five
proved to be one of those “Feel Good Days” we look forward to in
our sport. Jason Hentrich won his first TQ main along with Mark
Yoder scoring his first win in the Wingless 600 Sprints. 82 year
old Paul Quear showed the kids that he still has what it takes
with his second place finish in Dirt 600 Sprints and Kurt
Bettler clinched his second OctoberFest Championship. USAC
Sprint Car and Midget driving star Danny Drinan was in TQ
competition and Modifed driver Brian “The Dream” Weaver was
turning wrenches on the Rich
Salvmini TQ which added up to a very enjoyable fall afternoon at the
Borgers 1/7 mile asphalt oval.
The desire to win could be seen in the eyes of Jason Hentrich the
entire season at Borgers Speedway. With each passing week of
racing Jason was edging closer and it was only a matter of time
until the checkered waved for the jet black 67. Today, coming
out of turn four Jason saw that checkered flag waving for him.
As the green flag waved Don Zrinski led the field of Hoosier Racing
Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints to turn one followed by Hentrich
and Mark Yoder fresh from his Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint win.
Immediately a fierce battle for the lead developed between
Zrinski and Hentrich for the top spot. The crafty veteran and
the young challenger battled lap after lap with Hentrich putting
tremendous pressure on the 2012 Borgers TQ point champion. While
Hentrich would catch Zrinski going into the turns Zrinski would
pull Hentrich coming out of the turns. As all this was taking
place Mark Yoder, David Beiler, and Danny Drinan were locked in
a three car battle for third place. With five laps to go
Hentrich made his move getting by Zrinski as this “Nail Biter”
was rapidly coming to a close. After a hard, clean fought battle
by all drivers Hentrich took his first checkered flag followed
by Zrinski, Yoder, Beiler, and Drinan.
Before the Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint main Mark
Yoder mentioned he could use some photos. Little did Mark
realize that his request would be granted in victory lane. In
what would turn out to be a perfect day for the young driver
from
Lititz, Pa Mark
won his heat setting him on the pole for the feature event. At
the drop of the green Yoder charged into turn one with Paul
Quear and Joe Agnello hot on his tail. As Yoder and Quear opened
a slight lead Agnello suffered tire problems retiring him for
the day moving David Beiler to third spot. With Yoder completely
in command the laps ticked off with Yoder taking his first win
followed by Quear, Beiler and Agnello.
Kurt Bettler won his fifth OctoberFest AllStar Slingshot feature
clinching his second OctoberFest Championship the first coming
back on the dirt in 2008. The day started out with nothing but
problems for Bettler blowing a motor in his racer while on the
grid. Jumping in the back up car strike two was dealt as the
right rear hub broke during the third practice session. With
quick repairs and the luck of the draw Bettler started on the
pole and won his heat but a bent axle that could not be repaired
in time threatened strike three.
Bettler led the pack to turn one with Al Hauptman and Steve Heckman in hot
pursuit. Coming out of turn two on lap one Tom Arntz hot off his
previous week’s Slingshot Tour win grabbed third sport from
Heckman going down the backstretch. By lap five Arntz picked off
Hauptman with his sites set on Bettler. Lap ten Jim Laubach took
over fourth spot as Arntz turned up the steam on Bettler. The
last fifteen laps it was anyone’s guess who would come out on
top as Bettler and Arntz burned up the asphalt. Fighting an ill
handling car due to the bent axle Bettler held on for the win
followed by Arntz, Hauptman, Laubach, and Heckman.

SESELY, ARNTZ, MCGILL, VIVONA MAKE THEIR PRESENCE KNOW AT
GREEN FLAG DRIVING EXPERIENCE BORGERS OCTOBERFEST RND. 4..

bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg,
PA., October 14th, 2012:
A record field of eighty four cars jammed the
Borgers pits to overflowing on this crisp, cool mid October Saturday in the
Poconos.
It only took a few laps for Anthoney Sesely to
show the Borgers regulars the way around in Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600
Sprint competition at Borgers Speedway. Sesely led the field to turn one
followed by Don Zrinski and Mike Tidaback. By lap two Rob Vivona was already in
second spot in his Dirt 600 Sprint and took chase on Sesely. As the duo pulled
away from the rest of the field Vivona tried to catch the high flying Sesely but
it was not to be. Sesely took the win in his first start at Borgers Speedway
followed by Vivona, Tidaback, Don Zrinski, and Jason Hentrich.
For Tom Arntz the past few weeks have been
nothing but frustration at Borgers Speedway. A number of strong runs ended in
mechanical breakdowns and Tom just could not get the monkey off his back.
Tonight that would all change. Justin Thompson blasted the twenty three car
field into turn one followed by Kyle Gruber and Tom Arntz. Coming out of turn
two Arntz made the pass on Gruber for second spot with his sights on Thompson.
Three time OctoberFest winner Kurt Bettler soon secured fourth spot as the
leaders opened a slight lead. By lap five Al Hauptman joined the lead pack and a
five car “Battle Royale” for the lead was shaping up.
You could have thrown a blanket over the top four cars with Hauptman a half car
length behind. With visions of his first checkered flag at Borgers Speedway
Arntz turned up the steam and a misjudgment by Thompson in turn three brought
out the caution. This put Arntz in the lead on the lap twenty restart with
Bettler second and Danny Buccafusca third. The remaining five laps Bettler was
glued to Arntz’s rear bumper but Arntz was not to be shaken and took his first
win at Borgers Speedway and a national tour title as well. Bettler finished a
close second followed by Buccafusca, Hauptman, and Gruber.
Once again the Junior Slingshots put on a
fantastic show in their National Tour Event. Ryan Quackenbush led going into
turn one followed by Brandon McGill, and Dakota Barlet. Lap two McGill made the
pass on Quackenbush for the lead and never looked back. In the closing laps
Dylan Hoch made the pass on Barlet for third. With the checkered flag waving it
was McGuill, Quackenbush, Hoch, Barlet, and Dakota Cobler.
Rob Vivona led every lap to win his fourth
straight Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints followed by Bobby
Butler, Mike Fillbrunn, Joe Agnello, David Beiler, and Mark Yoder.

Hunter Smith are also looking to dethrone Bettler.
In TQ and Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint competition
the story has centered on Rob Vivona. Vivona has won the first three races in
Dirt 600 Sprints but Joe Agnello and Mike Fillbrunn have different ideas for
this week.
Vivona
has also won two rounds of TQ’s in the Metz Rides For Rent Black Betty. Don

BARLET PICKS UP FIRST JUNIOR SLINGSHOT WIN...

Saylorsburg, PA., October 6th, 2012:
“Three in a row is awesome but the one
we really want is the big one next week,” Kurt Bettler referring to next week’s
AllStar Slingshot Tour race at Borgers Speedway. Heat winner Al Hauptman led
Bettler and Tom Arntz to turn one at the drop of the green. As the pack roared
down the backstretch Bettler was immediately challenging Hauptman for the lead.
By lap three Jim Laubach got by Arntz for third and joined the hunt for the
lead. Completing lap five Bettler made a bid fpr the lead in turn four and came
out ahead. As Bettler widened his lead a fierce battle was brewing between
Hauptman and Arntz for second spot. Lap after lap with Arntz glued to Hauptman’s
rear bumper Arntz made the pass for second with five to go. By this time Bettler
had opened a straightaway lead and Arntz had to settle for second followed by
Hauptman, Jim Laubach, Scott Dinin, and Tom Hennessey.
Rob Vivona remained undefeated in Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints
leading every lap to take the win over Mike Fillbrunn and Joe Agnello.
With one win each in Hoosier Racing tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints Rob Vivona and
Don Zrinski were set for another showdown on the Borgers asphalt. Mechanical
trouble forced Zrinski to scratch from the feature but Vivona still had some
quality chauffeurs to deal with. At the drop of the green it was Mike Tidaback,
Rob Vivona, and Louie Horvath in the Fillbrunn 66 roaring into turn one. Vivona
made quick work of Tidaback on lap two taking the lead as Jason Hentrich took
chase on Horvath. Lap four Hentrich made the pass on Horvath for third and had
Tidaback in the crosshairs. Hentrich, who has been getting faster each week
turned up the steam on Tidaback and a wheel to wheel battle for second spot went
into high gear. Hentrich was relentless and did not miss a beat getting by
Tidaback for second with five laps to go. Out front the finely tuned
Metz Machine was flawless as Vivona took his second win of the OctoberFest
series. Hentrich finished a strong second followed by Tidaback, Horvath, Stephen
Boland, Joe Agnello, and Don Zrinski.
It did not take long for Junior Slingshot newcomers Dakota Barlet, Brandon
McGill, and Dylan Hoch to take to the Borgers asphalt. Dakota Barlet jumped to
an early lead followed by Hoch and McGuill. Lap two McGuill made the pass on
Hoch for second as the three young drivers put on a superb performance. Barlet
took the win over McGuill, and Hoch.
Borger

race will take place.

Saylorsburg, PA., September 29th, 2012:
Kurt Bettler and Rob Vivona remain undefeated but Don Zrinski kept Vivona from
taking the “Pick Pap’s Pocket” bonus by keeping Vivona from victory lane in TQ
Midgets.
Once again Rob Vivona showed his dominance in Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt
600 Sprints. Vivona jumped to an early lead followed by Louie Horvath and Joe
Agnello. Lap two a hard charging Mark Yoder made the pass on Agnello for third
and locked into a three way battle with Vivona and Horvath for the lead. The
trio set a blistering pace and at the half way mark Yoder made the pass for
second. Yoder with his sights set on Vivona turned up the steam but Vivona would
prove to be too strong taking his second OctoberFest win. Yoder was second
followed by Joe Agnello, Bobby Butler, Horvath, Paul Quear who celebrated his 82nd
birthday today and Mike Fillbrunn.
Rob Vivona started on the pole in Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints
with the “Pick Pap’s Pocket “bonus in reach. Vivona was fast from the drop of
the green, very fast but Don Zrinski had other ideas. In a wheel to wheel battle
Vivona and Zrinski swapped the lead numerous times during the early stages with
Zrinski taking the lead for good on lap eight. Mike Tidaback and Bobby Charlier
were in striking distance but never a serious threat. As the laps wound down
vivona tried every trick in the book to get by the “Crafty Veteran “Zrinski but
it was not to be. Zrinski snatched the win and kept Vivona from collecting Pap’s
bonus. Mike Tidaback was third followed by Charlier, Joe Agnello, Mark Yoder,
Bobby Butler, and Louie Horvath.
In All-Star Slingshots Kurt Bettler, Greg Zellman, Tom Arntz led the field to
turn one. On lap three Arntz made the pass on Zellman for second and took chase
on Bettler. Lap seven Arntz and Zellman tangled in turn three which put Hunter
Smith and David McCullough behind Bettler on the restart. Lap thirteen found a
hard charging Al Hauptman and Tom Arntz making a dash from the rear into second
and third. As Bettler extended his lead Hauptman and Arntz locked into a torrid
battle for second spot. With the laps ticking off Bettler was not to be caught
and Hauptman edged out Arntz at the finish line. Smith was third followed by
Zellman, Rusty Myers, McCollough, Jim Conroy, and Tom Hennessey.
Borger Bits.
Sophie Azzalina made her first appearance as Lil. Ms. Borgers in victory lane
with Cody Quagliato winner of the Kid Kart Back To School 25. Sophie will
preside as Lil Ms Borgers for the remainder of OctoberFest. Meredith Howell who
took a violent flip in the Kid Kart feature got back in her car and took a few
laps after the Kid Kart feature to a standing ovation by the fans in the pits
and grandstands.
Brad Hinkleman appears to be unstoppable in Champ Kart racing and will be a
favorite in the upcoming Champ Kart Fall Brawl $500 to win show October 13. With
car counts raising a total of 54 cars saw action in Saturdays racing. Louie
Horvath making his first appearance took well to the asphalt with bad luck once
again rearing its ugly head.
Tom Arntz still experiencing motor problems jumped into the Scott Miller-
Bettler Brothers back up car and finished a strong third in AllStar Slingshots.
Bobby Butler picking up a ride in the Ed Wilburger 600 Sprint and also
experienced his share of bad luck.
What can you say about birthday boy Paul Quear celebrating his 82 nd birthday
and still goin gstorng in Dirtt 600 Sprints. Good to see Stan Friedman in the
pits and looking better each week. Stan is determined to get back to racing
action next season at Borgers the track where he had great success on the dirt.
Second place Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint point finisher Mike Fillbrunn can’t seem
to catch a break but will soon get his fuel problems fixed and once again be a
threat. Plan to be on hand next Saturday October 6 for round three of Green Flag
Driving Experience Borgers Asphalt OctoberFest 2012.

Midget and the run a Go Kart. The same for a Karter wanting to run a Quarter
Midget. Racers in the Karts and the Quarter Midgets can move up to one of the
big car divisions. A racer in the big car divisions can run a Kart if they
choose. Parents of the Karters and the Quarter Midgets can run a big car
division. The possibilities are endless and this is all in the “Birthing Stages”
at Borgers Speedway.
The newly built Mini Oval which with turn
areas being repaved to eliminate the transition will be completed weather
permitting in the next two weeks and will see action with the Kid Kart, Junior
Karts, and Quarter Midgets. The infield road course will see action with all
Karting Classes. In other words a racer can have the best of everything at
Borgers Speedway.
We will be adding additional Quarter Midget
classes in preparation for the November 17 Borgers Speedway Starz Of Tomorrow
Quarter Midget Nationals.
We are pleased to make the following
announcements.

BETTLER BEST IN ALL-STAR SLINGSHOTS.. VIVONA SWEEPS TQ'S AND WINGLESS DIRT SPRINTS ROUND ONE OF GREEN FLAG DRIVING EXPERIENCE BORGERS ASPHALT OCTOBERFEST 2012...
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder
bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., September 23rd, 2012:
Bettler
Best In All-Star Slingshots. Vivona Sweeps TQ’s and Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints
Round One of Green Flag Driving Experience Borgers Asphalt OctoberFest 2012.
Kurt Bettler won the last race on dirt at Borgers Speedway in 2011 but it did
not take him long to make the adjustment to asphalt and put the Scott Miller
owned 66 in victory lane in All-Star Slingshot action. The Hammer Down Dyno
Services mount was tuned to perfection as Bettler made his presence known in
round one competition.
Coming of a heat win it was Bettler first to turn one followed by Al Hauptman,
Kyle Gruber, and Jim Laubach. Lap eight Laubach made the pass on Gruber for
third and Bettler and Hauptman battled for the lead. As laps ticked off the
positions stayed the same with Bettler taking the win followed by Hauptman,
Laubach, Gruber, and Mike Lapicki.
When you think Rob Vivona’s season can’t get any better it just does as Rob make
a clean sweep of the Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints and
Tq/Asphalt Sprint mains.
Hoosier
Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints saw Vivona jump to an early lead with
last week’s feature winner Joe Agnello hot on his tail. Borgers Speedway Dirt
270 multi feature winner and West End Fair Nationals winner Steve Walters made
his first appearance in a 600 Sprint and soon took up the chase. Agnello kept
the pressure on Vivona but ran out of laps with Vivona taking the round one
checkered flag followed by Agnello, Walters, and Mike Fillbrunn.
A record field of eleven Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints led by Don
Zrinski took the green with Shaun Carrig winning the drag race to turn one
followed by Don Zrinski and Mike Tidaback. Carrig’s lead was to be short lived
as Zrinski took over on lap two. On a lap seven Carrig regain the lead in a
fierce battle for the front spot. While all this action was taking place up
front Rob Vivona, in the
Metz Racing Rides For Rent 01, was on the move charging into third spot. One lap
later Vivona made the pass on Zrinski for second and had Carrig in sight. One
more lap and Vivona screamed into the lead. In the closing laps Bruce Leote and
Jason Hentrich made the move to second and third. As Vivona opened a slight lead
the the race for second spot became a real barn burner as Leote turned up the
heat on Carrig. As the checkered flag fell on Vivona Carrig barely nose out
Leote at the finish followed by Hentrich, and Don Zrinski.
With the threat of rain some TQ’s that were expected did not make the trip and
should be on hand next week. Judging by the outstanding performance put on by
the TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints today the Glory Days of Pine Brook are in sight.
A fantastic day of racing by all divisions sets the stage for Green Flag Driving
Experience Borgers Asphalt OctoberFest 2012 round two next week which promises
to be even better.

AGNELLO, VANHORN, ROGERS NEW BORGERS WINNERS.
HAUPTMAN REPEAT WINNER....
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., September 15th, 2012: Joe Agnello, Tim VanHorn, and Marc Rogers visited Borgers Speedway victory lane for the first time while the Quarter Midgets came “Thundering In.”
A total of twelve Quarter Midgets broke ground in the initial test of what will be a tremendous addition to the weekly racing excitement at Borgers Speedway. The powerful Quarter Midgets caught on quick to the newly created mini oval and the response was unanimous. “We Love It”
Speedway owner Glenn Borger, “the Quarter Midgets are a welcome addition to our family or racers at Borgers Speedway. I was very impressed with the skill and professionalism these racers and their parents showed. We are looking for big things to happen with the Quarter Midgets in the future at Borgers Speedway.”
Joe Agnello has been one of Borgers Speedway’s most loyal competitors both in Wingless 600 Sprints and in his son Joey’s Kid Kart racing career. While son Joey has been a multi feature winner in the Kid Karts victory lane at Borgers for Joe sr. has always been elusive. Today that would all change.
At the drop of the green in Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints it was Mike Fillbrunn first to turn one followed by Joe Agnello and Marc Yoder. Soon a wheel to wheel battle would develop between Fillbrunn and Agnello with Agnello ducking under Fillbrunn going into turn one on lap twelve for the lead. Fillbrunn hung on Agnello’s rear bumper the remaining laps but Agnello was not to be shaken as he took his first Borgers checkered flag. Fillbrunn was second followed by Yoder.
Tim VanHorn was the Borgers Speedway Hoosier Racing Tires XCEL 600 Modified point champion but a visit to victory lane had not been notched in his record book. VanHorn jumped to an early lead over Shannon Maustellar and led every lap to take his first win.
In Hoosier Racing tires TQ’s Marc Rogers led every lap to take his first win.
All Star Slingshots saw Al Hauptman take the lead going into turn one with Steve Heckman on his right side. The two veteran racers raced side by side the first ten laps until Hauptman opened a slight lead. As the laps wound down Heckman tried to snatch first place from Hauptman but it was not to be. Hauptman took his second win of the year followed by Heckman, Tom Hennessey, Doc Lapicki, and Justin Zucal.

SOPHIE AZZALINA NAMED LITTLE MISS BORGERS AS BORGERS
FUTURE STARS REV UP FOR BACK TO SCHOOL KID KART 25...
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., September 12th, 2012: The excitement is growing as the Kid Kart Racers gear up for the First Annual Back To School Kid Kart 25 September 29 during week number two of Green Flag Driving Experience Borgers Speedway Asphalt OctoberFest 2012.
A “Who’s Who” in Kid Kart Racing is expected to take the green flag during this first ever event. Racers already signed up include Borgers 2012 Kid Kart Point Champion Meredith Howell, Liam O.Connor, Collin O’Connor, Cody Quagliato, Tommy Kendel, Alyssa Waldman, and Ben Richards. Joey Agnello who is recovering from a recent racing accident will be Grand Marshall for the event and issue the command “Ladies and Gentlemen Start Your Engines.”
There will be an autograph session, Driver interviews, and goodie bags for all the competitors capped off by a 25 lap feature event. This event will be run during the Big Car portion of the night to insure maximum exposure for the kids.
Sophie Azzalina has been named Lil. Ms Borgers Speedway for the event and will present trophies to all the drivers in victory lane. Sophie, a seven year old second grader from Saylorsburg, Pa., is no stranger to Borgers Speedway Victory Lane as she has shared victory lane honors with her brothers Zac and Brandon. The Azzalina brothers, who are both accomplished Wingless 600 Sprint drivers, have won numerous feature events in Slingshots and Wingless 600 Sprints during the dirt days at Borgers. While Borgers Speedway has had numerous Ms. Borgers Speedways throughout the years Sophie will be the first Lil. Ms. Borgers.
Another young lady playing a big part in this event will be 12 year old Kaylee O’Connor. Kaylee will be in the starter’s stand assisting the flag man during this race. Kaylee will throw the green flag starting the race and give the half way, two to go, one to go, and all important checkered flag.
Plan on being at Borgers Speedway September 29 to see the great driving talents of these kids who will guarantee a bright future for racing for years to come at Borgers Speedway. Racing greats such as Billy Pauch Jr., Ryan Smith, and Ryan Bohlke scored their first feature wins at Borgers Speedway. Which one of the kids will be next?
LITTLE BORGERS SPEEDWAY READY TO TAKE FLIGHT
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., September 12th, 2012: Little Borgers Ready To Take Flight as JPL Synthetic Performance Lubricants, and Strapped In Racing Magazine Join Sponsor List For Green Flag Driving Experience Borgers Asphalt OctoberFest 2012.
With the addition of the Kart Road Course and Infield Mini Oval Borgers Speedway may soon need to change its name to Borgers Speedway Motorsports Park. The water barriers and cones have been delivered and Borgers Karting Director Dan Shupp has set up the infield road course. All Karters will be allowed to test the course two at a time during the early practice session at 1:15 p.m. Testing will also continue after the day’s events.
The action will then shift to the Borgers Mini Oval as the Light 160 and Light World Formula Quarter Midgets will take to the newly created oval with practice, heats, and features. This is all in preparation for the November 17 Starz of Tomorrow Borgers Speedway Quarter Midget Nationals.
The Mini Oval also opens the door for Kid Karts and Junior Kart classes who have expressed an interest in running the smaller track. We would like to get some Karts on the Mini Oval and Dan Shupp will evaluate the test session and make the decision when to try some races on the Mini Oval.
Speedway Owner Glenn Borger, “we knew the transition from dirt to asphalt would be tough and we feel we are making a lot of progress in that direction. People are giving us a try and like what they see and we are here to stay. My staff is thinking outside the box and we feel the Mini Oval and Road Course will be a great asset to our Karting and Quarter Midget program.”
As the clock ticks closer to the First Annual Green Flag Driving Experience Borgers Asphalt OctoberFest 2012 the sponsorship list is growing. SPL Performance Lubricants has added $100 to the Karting events and Mike Feltenberger of Strapped In Racing Magazine in celebration of its 10th. Anniversary has kicked in $25 for 10th place finisher in the All-Star Slingshot tour race and $25 for 10th place in the Junior Slingshot tour race.
At last count and growing $4500 in sponsorship money plus another $1000 in parts and gift certificates has been secured for the six race series starting September 22 and running through October.

MIKE LAPICKI WINS FIRST ALL-STAR SLINGSHOT FEATURE AS
BORGERS SPEEDWAY CROWNS JUSTIN ZUCAL, DON ZRINSKI,
ROB VIVONA, AND TIM VANHORN AS 2012 POINT CHAMPIONS..
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., September 2nd, 2012: An evening of high emotion capped the 2012 point season and opened the door for the much anticipated Green Flag Driving Experience Borgers Speedway OctoberFest Series which begins September 22. Gary Conkling and associates at Green Flag Driving Experience have signed on as the prime sponsor of the OctoberFest Series along with fourteen other associate sponsors which will be announced later next week.
In All-Star Slingshot action Tom Hennessey led the field to turn one followed by Mike Lapicki and Scott Dinin. Justin Zucal got past Dinin on lap two but it was Hennessey who was in command. In his best run of the season Hennessey appeared to be headed for his first asphalt win when a blown engine sidelined him on lap five. On the restart it was Lapicki with Dinin hot on his tail. Soon Zucal turned up the steam on Dinin and made the pass for second in the closing laps. Lapicki would prove to be too strong and took his first feature win of 2012 followed by Zucal, Dinin, David Morrell, and Tom Hennessey.
Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints saw Rob Vivona continue his domination. Mike Fiibrunn who has played bridesmaid to Vivona all season finished second followed by Joe Agnello and Jason Hentrick.
Shannon Maustellaer won the Hoosier Racing Tires XCEL 600 Modifieds.
The Borgers 2012 Point Season ended today with champions crowned in all divisions.
Don “The Snake” Zrinski proved you don’t have to be a kid to be fast at Borgers winning five features and the Hoosier Racing tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprint Championship.
Rob Vivona shared victory lane only with Matt Janisch winning the Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Championship. Vivona who was virtually unbeatable definitely had the best season of his career.
Justin Zucal raced 270 Sprints with his father Ed for many years at Borgers when the track was dirt. Justin switched to the AllStar Slingshots a few years ago and the move proved to be right as he picked up the Borgers 2012 AllStar Slingshot championship.
Tim VanHorn became a steady runner and a man to be reckoned with in the Hoosier Racing Tires XCEL 600 Modifieds picking up the season championship.
While only one driver can be the winner in each class every driver that competed in each class this year at Borgers is a winner. Everyone gave it their best taking a chance on a new racetrack that had many new challenges. Everyone stood up and met the challenge and the management and staff at Borgers Speedway is proud of every one of you. You were the “Explorers” in a strange new world and all of you are living proof the new world was conquered and we are here to stay. Give yourself a round of applause because you all had a part in the beginning of something big that will get bigger and better each year. ZRINSKI, VIVONA, HARMAN HOT AT BORGERS...
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., August 25th, 2012: A race can change in a heartbeat and that is just what happened in Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints at Borgers Speedway Saturday evening . While Blu Metz experienced both “the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat” coming out of turn four on the checkered flag lap Don Zrinski was in the right place at the right time.
At the drop of the green it was Zrinski, Stephen Boland and Rob Vivona to turn one. Vivona brought out the yellow on lap two and it was Metz to third on the restart. It would not take long for a three car battle for the lead developed between Zrinski, Marc Rogers , and Metz. Metz took over the lead when a tangle in turn three between Zrinski and Rogers sent them to the rear. This moved Boland to second behind Metz for the restart. Zrinski and Rogers made the pass on Boland two laps later with their sights on Metz. Lap twenty Rogers got by Zrinski setting up a three car “Battle Royale” between Met, Rogers, and Zrinski. The final five laps proved to be a real “nail biter” with Metz holding off the charge by Rogers. Coming out of turn four on the last lap with the checkered flag waving and victory in site for Metz contact was made resulting in Metz and Rogers spinning to the infield with Zrinski slipping by to take the win. Stephen Boland was second followed by Metz, Rogers, and Vivona.
Jason Harman made it two in a row in All-Star Slingshots but it was not easy task. Harman won the sprint to turn one followed by Kurt Bettler and Al Hauptman. Going into turn two the front runners got together resulting in Bettler and Hauptman going to the rear. On the restart Harman led the way followed by Tom Arntz and Tom Hennessey. Arntz running strong was on the hunt for Harman until a dragging front bumped forced Arntz into a black flag situation. While all this was taking place Bettler and Hauptman were making a strong run from the rear and rejoined the chase on Harman. With Bettler and Hauptman coming on strong there was not enough laps left to catch Harman. Harman took the win followed by Bettler, Hauptman, Ton Hennessey, and Hunter Smith. A post race tech of the top three finishers found everyone legal.
Rob Vivona led every lap to win the Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints over Mike Fillbrunn, Ed Wilberger Sr., Joe Yaccarino, and Joe Agnello.
A very strong run by Ed Wilberger Sr. netted him a third place finish in Dirt 600 Sprints. His best finish of the season.
Stephen Boland looking stronger each week after coming back from his spectacular early season flip in turn one.
Tom Hennessey having a very strong season looks to be a shoe in for third place points in All-Star Slingshots.
First time appearances this season in the All-Star Slingshots by Kurt Bettler, Tom Arntz, Hunter Smith, and David Morrrell made for one of the best Slingshot races of the season.
With one week left in the 2012 point season Don Zrinski has the TQ championship locked up. Mike Fillbrunn still has a slight mathematical chance of catching Rob Vivona in Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints. The battle between All-Star Slingshot point leader Justin Zucal and Jason Harman will go right down to the wire. Tim VanHorn has already won the XCEL 600 Modified championship.

Dan Shupp, “I have been getting some requests from Junior drivers that would like to see some road course racing at Borgers. I set up the course and with the help of Borgers Speedway marketing director Brendan OcOnnor and his sons turned some laps.” I think this shows a lot of promise and we will be trying it with the Kid Karts and Juniors after the point season ends.”

PENSYL ON BOARD AT BORGERS. MAJOR QUARTER MIDGET
CHAMPIONSHIP RACE ANNOUNCED...

Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., August 22nd, 2012: Borgers Speedway Owner Glenn Borger and the staff at Borgers Speedway welcome Ed Pensyl to the Borgers Speedway team. Glenn Borger “ we are pleased to have Ed on the Borgers Speedway team as we expand our plans for the rest of the 2012 season and the 2013 racing season. We have also scheduled a major Quarter Midget event for November 17 and if that race works as we expect we may also schedule another event early in the 2013 season. For that event we will not be able to run our regular program but other then that date our schedule will not change.”
Ed Pensyl has been a prominent figure in Quarter Midget racing for twenty years owning and operating Pensyl Enterprises which deals in quarter midget fabrication and parts supplying. Ed also is a key figure in the West End Fairgrounds Quarter Midget Club.
Co-promoter Bob Snyder, “ I have known Ed for about twenty years and I am certain he will be a great asset to Borgers Speedway not just with the Quarter Midgets but the marketing and future of our speedway. Along with Ed, Brendan OcConnor has also become a very important part of Borgers Speedwy with his expertise in marketing.”
Contrary to rumors circulating we will not change our Three Quarter Midget program. It will continue in the path we have been following this season. Blu Metz, owner of Metz Racing Rides For Rent has guided Borgers Speedway in a direction we feel will bring back Three Quarter Midget racing to it’s glorious past. There are plenty of cars sitting in garages that have been waiting for a local track close to home. Along with Blu’s ideas of keeping the cost of racing in line we feel with our rules package we can achieve our goal of building car counts. People need to know that we are for real and we are here to stay.
S&S Speedways and Hamlin Speedway promoter Randy Smith will be supplying Slingshot Parts and Tires at Borgers Speedway. With the additional racers planning on running our fall series Randy will have the needed parts and tires in stock.
Any Kart or MicroStock racers feel free to talk to Dan Shupp with any set up questions. Dan is owner of Shupp’s Kart Shop and runs Borgers Karting program. Dan will get you in the ball park and supply you with any engine building and karting supplies. You can reach Dan at 484-281-3259.
Plans are well underway for Borgers Asphalt OctoberFest and we have been meeting this week to finalize plans. Sponsorship has been rolling in and a major event sponsor will be announced shortly. The six races series will start September 22 and run through the month of October. There will be one drop week as not to interfere with Lindas Nationals. Bob Snyder, “after last night’s meeting with Glenn everyone is very excited how OctoberFest and plans for the 2013 season are coming together. Glenn has a staff of good people with a lot of good ideas with one common goal to make Borgers Speedway work.”
Karts and MicroStocks will run along with the OctoberFest events. Money races are being planned for the bigger classes.
With tracks closing for the season the gates at Borgers Speedway are open for all racers to give asphalt racing a try. Try it and you just might like it. You won’t have to wash mud off your car.

Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., August 18th, 2012: Due to scheduling conflicts the Hoosier Racing Tires XCEl 600 Modifieds point season ended two weeks earlier than the rest of the divisions at Borgers Speedway. Coming of a fantastic season Tim Van Horn became the first Borgers Speedway Ashphalt Point champion of the 2012 racing season. While Tim came up just shy of a few feature wins consistent top three finishes locked up the season crown for Van Horn.
Scott Washburn took the lead from Kyle Kocher on lap four and went on to win today’s main followed by Kocher, VanHorn, Ronnie Molner, and Shaun Burd.
In Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints Rob Vivona continued his domination to win over Mike Fillbrunn, Ed Wilberger Sr., and Joe Agnello. While Vivona has held the point lead all season with two races to go Fillbrunn is still in striking distance.
Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints saw Don Zrinski make it two in a row adding to his point lead. Zrinski led every lap but did not have an easy time of it as hard charging Marc Rogers stayed glued to Zrinski’s rear bumper. Rogers held on for second spot in his best finish of the year followed by Rob Vivona, Stephen Boland, and Jason Hentrick.
All-Star Slingshots saw the return of Jason Harman to continue his winning ways. Taking a few weeks off to run some big races Harman had an impressive second place finish at the New Reading Fair Nostalgia Nationals. Harman led every lap to take the win over Greg Zellman and Justin Zucal. With two races remaining in the points battle Zucal holds about a 160 lead over Harman.

BORGERS NEWS UPDATES
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., August 14th, 2012: Plans for the Borgers six race fall series starting September 22 are in full swing. Brendan O’Connor in charge of Borgers marketing has already secured some major sponsorship and more is on the way. We should have most of the details in place by September 1.
Plans are to hold a Borgers Kid Kart Nationals either September 22 or 29 in conjunction with the fall series. We are planning some big events for the future stars of Borgers Speedway which include a 30 lap feature with a tire changing pit stop on the infield, driver interviews, autograph session, plus special awards.
All Big Car feature winners are urged to bring their cars to Victory Lane after the last feature. Photos will be taken and posted on Facebook and the speedway web-site. Hopefully this may allow us to get more winners photos in Area Auto Racing News.
Our goal at Borgers Speedway is to bring back the glory days of Pine Brook Speedway. While nothing will ever replace Pine Brook we are looking at a great new comeback for the TQ’s and MicroStocks which filled the pits of the North Jersey oval each Friday night for many years. Our TQ’s are building and our MicroStock Big Show produced by Don Boonstra and Dave Parker was proof with 35 entries there is a big interest in MicroStock racing. Our goal at Borgers Speedway is to become a home track for TQ’s and MicroStocks providing weekly shows with a good purse and no need to travel long distances with today’s high gas prices.
My right hand man, race director, and chief scorer Darin Bartholomew tried a new race format which worked very well this past week. This allows more time for practice and time between races plus allows us to set definite times. This will be discussed at the driver’s meetings this week and if accepted will be put into place August 25. The format is listed below, please feel free to comment.

Special thanks to Trina Bechtold and Beth Shupp the girls in the office who did a tremendous job with signing, heat line ups, and payouts for the two complete shows we ran last Saturday. Great job ladies.
Please note. The office will close one half hour after the last feature is checkered flagged. So please pick up your payout and return transponders as soon as possible. Everyone is welcome to hang around afterwards but get your payout taken care of first.
Borger’s Garage is now open for business. Glenn does Pennsylvania car, truck, and trailer inspections so if you need inspection service see Pap and he will take care of you.
Look for more details shortly for the fall series and many exciting plans for the 2013 racing season at Borgers Speedway.
ROB VIVONA MAKES BORGERS SPEEDWAY HISTORY.
MATT DEALAMAN, SCOTT WASHBURN, & DON ZRINSKI
SHARE BORGERS VICTORY LANE SPOTLIGHT..
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., August 11th, 2012: In a history making day at Borgers Speedway, which may not be matched at any other racetrack, Rob Vivona did the impossible. Rob won two Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint heats, two TQ heats, two Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint features, and one TQ feature and came short of winning the second TQ feature when brake problems struck with three laps to go. To top that Rob led every lap of every heat and feature with the exception of the last three laps of the second TQ feature. Vivona piloted the potent F8 Metz Racing TQ while wheeling his own Dirt 600.
Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint action saw Rob Vivona lead every lap to win the makeup feature over Joe Agnello, Mike Fillburn, David Beiler, Mark Yoder.
Vivona repeated his victory in feature two over Mike Fillburn, Joe Agnello, and Joe Yaccarino.
In Hoosier Racing Tires TQ feature one Vivona jumped to an early lead and never looked back. Don Zrinski gave chase to Vivona but had to settle for second followed by Tim Proctor, Darren Schuler, and Mark Rogers.
In the second feature Vivona jumped to an early lead followed by Zrinski and Proctor. Zrinski would run side by side with Vivona a number of times until Zrinski and Proctor slipped by Vivona when his brakes failed with three laps to go. Zrinski took the win followed by Proctor, Vivona, and Darren Schuler. In his first appearance at Borgers Speedway Tim Proctor had a very good day with a second and third place finish.
A strong field of Hoosier Racing tires XCEL 600 Modifieds took starter Chris Walk’s green flag with Tim VanHorn winning the sprint to turn one followed by Kyle Kocher and Scott Washburn. In a bold move Washburn passed Kocher coming out of turn two with his sights set on VanHorn. Lap three Shaun Burd made the pass on Kocher for third. This would turn into a hard fought duel with VanHorn and Washburn and Washburn taking the lead on lap seventeen followed by Burd. Burd turned up the steam but could not catch Washburn. Washburn took the win followed by Burd, VanHorn, BJ Scherff, Kocher, Ronnie Molner, Ricky Raisner Jr., and John Lakatos. Always putting on an exciting show the “fan favorite” XCEL 600 Modifieds with increasing car counts will keep the fans on the edge of their seats in weeks to come.
When the All-star Slingshot of Matt Dealaman pulls into the pits the competiton knows they are in for a real challenge and this week Matt put his father Scott behind the wheel of the 07X. Matt lived up to his reputation of being the “Real Deal” winning both AllStar Sliongshot mains. In feature one Dealaman started on the pole and led lap one followed by Mike Lapicki, and Juston Zucal. By lap three Ton Hennessey moved into third spot. On a restart Hennessey got by Zucal for second and Lapicki regained second two laps later. By halfway Zucal moved to second and put the pressure on Dealaman while father Scott grabbed third. As the checkered flag waved for Matt Zucal would hold on for second followed by Scott Delaman, Ton Hennessey, Mike Lapicki, and Scott Dinin.
In feature two Delaman took the early lead followed by Hennessey, and Scott Dinin. Lap seven Dinin made the move on Hennessey for second putting the pressure on Delaman. As the laps wound down Dinin mounted a strong run on Dealaman but did not have quite enough to catch the red 07. Delaman took his second win of the day followed by Dinin, Tom Hennessey, Ricky Raisner Jr., and Scott Delaman.
Today’s action saw Don Zrinski take the point lead in TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints and Justin Zucal the new leader in All-star Slingshots. Rob Vivona remains leader in Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints while Tim VanHorn holds his lead in XCEL 600 Modifieds.

With the conclusion of the Fall Spectacular racing will continue into November at Borger Speedway. Speedway owner and promoter Glenn Borger. “Our plans are to race until the snow flies as long as the racers and fans continue to come out. We are looking for big things to happen during the Fall Spectacular as some of the other tracks will be closing down for the season giving their drivers an opportunity to give our asphalt a try. Tire wear which is the big concern has not been a problem and with us allowing the asphalt slicks on the Dirt 600’s many teams are getting at least four races to a right rear. Come try our asphalt and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.”
Borgers Speedway will be running paid practice sessions January 12 and January 26 for anyone preparing for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bowl or anyone wishing to get a jump start on the 2013 racing season. Al Hauptman won the sprint to turn one in AllStar Slingshots followed by Justin Zucal and Tom Hennessey. Hennessey got by Zucal on lap five as Hauptman increased his lead as Zucal held on to third spot Scott Dinin joined the pack. In Hoosier Racing Tires Xcel 600 Modifieds Ronnie Molnar made his first stop in Borgers Speedway victory lane. Shaun Burd took the early lead followed by Molnar and Tim VanHorn. WALT MUELLER AND TOM ERVIN TOP 35 CAR BORGERS MICROSTOCK
BIG SHOW THRILLER. DAVE McCOLLOUGH WINS FIRST ALL-STAR
SLINGSHOT MAIN. VIVONA, JANISCH, KOCHER REPEAT..
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., July 22nd, 2012: Walt Mueller and Tom Ervin Top 35 Car Borgers MicroStock Big Show Thriller. Dave McCollough Wins First AllStar Slingshot Main. Vivona, Janisch, Kocher Repeat.
MicroStock Racing is alive and well at Borgers Speedway. When you mention the word MicroStock to racers Don Boonstra and Dave Parker the passion runs high. In the short time of three weeks Boonstra and Parker, both accomplished racers, along with a solid and determined staff put together the MicroStock Big Show at Borgers. With a combined Borgers purse and sponsorship money more then $1200 was up for grabs.
A record breaking field of 35 MicroStocks took to the Borgers Speedway asphalt and put on one of the most exciting shows of the Borgers Asphalt era. Comments such as “Borgers is the Daytona of MicroStock racing” and “the greatest field of Microstocks since the days of Pine Brook and Flemington” were among the many comments heard.
Walt Mueller took the Animal feature followed by John Rakos, Wayne Kremm, Roger Snyder, and Josh Hoser. Tom Ervin bested the World formula Microstocks followed by Jeff Weinecker, Dave Parker, Noel Scheffer, Gary Scheffer.
Borgers Speedway would like to thank everyone involved with the MicroStock program for putting on a fantastic show. Look for more of this great racing in the future. Dave McCollough decided to give the Borgers Speedway asphalt a try and it proved to be a good decision as Dave won his first
AllStar Slingshot feature. Tom Hennessey led the field to the green flag but it was McCollough winning the sprint to turn one followed by Hennessey and Justin Zucal. Zucal got by Hennessey on lap two followed by Greg Zellmen. Zellman made the pass on Zucal for second on lap six and took chase on McCollough. As the laps wound down Zellman closed the gap to about three car lengths but could not catch the high flying McCollough. McCollough took his first win followed by Zellman, Tom Hennessey, Justin Zucal, and Mike Lapicki.
Rob Vivona led every lap to continue his winning ways in Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints. Matt Janisch was second followed by Mike Fillbrunn and Joe Yaccarino. In Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints Matt Janisch took the win over Don Zrinski, Stephen Boland , and Jon Cortright. Kyle Kocher won the Hoosier Racing tires XCEL 600 Modified win over Tim VanHorn, Korey Inglin, and Shaun Burd.
Two time Borgers Speedway AllStar Slingshot Champion and Senior Statesman Stan Friedman took in Saturdays action at the track. Stan was looking great and getting the itch to race. Stan said “maybe next year.” Everyone at Borgers Speedway wishes Stan a full and speedy recovery.

HALF A CENTURY SEPARATES FIRST TIME FEATURE WINNERS
DANNY BERLITZ AND BILL FORCE SR. AT BORGERS...
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., July 14th, 2012: Sixty five year old Bill Force Sr. was racing long before Danny Berlitz was born but this day these two racers lives interconnected in a big way with Force winning his first TQ feature event at Borgers and Berlitz doing the same in the AllStar Slingshots.
With the paving of Borgers Speedway this past winter racing was starting from the ground up. We know it will be a long haul and one of our goals is to recreat the racing that happened years ago at the Pine Brook Speedway. In the past month Pine Brook veteran Don Zrinski won two TQ feature events and now it was another verteren Bill Force Sr. to do the same.
In Hoosier Racing tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprints Don Zrinski made it first to turn one followed by Blu Metz and Force. The caution waved on lap two as Metz and Zrinski got together in turn one. On the restart Metz took the lead followed by Force. Metz held the lead until two to go when Force made the pass for the lead and the win. Force took his first win followed by Metz and Zrinski.
The drop of the green in the AllStar Slingshot feature saw pole sitter Danny Berlitz win the sprint to turn two followed by his father Dan Berlitz and Scott Dinin.
Soon the son and father hooked up in a side by side battle for the lead. Scott Dinin was to have none of this and soon joined the hunt. As Danny opened a slight lead over his father contact was made with Dan Berlitz and Dinin. Dinin took over second spot with his sights set on Danny Berlitz and took the lead on lap ten. Dinin held the lead until five to go when Danny Berlitz made the pass for the lead and took starter Mike Eckhardt’s checkered flag. Dinin was a close second followed by Dan Berlitz.
Hoosier Racing Wingles 600 Sprints saw Rob Vivona continue his winning ways. Vivona led from the pole followed by Matt Janisch and Mike Fillbrunn. Matt Janisch took the lead on lap two but Vivona regained the lead on lap eight and took the win followed by Fillbrunn and Janisch.

Co-promoter Bob Snyder. “We knew the transformation to asphalt would be starting from the ground up and we are pleased where we are at this point. Of course we would like bigger car counts but this is about where we expected to be at this point. By August we feel we will be adding a bunch of cars to the TQ and Sprint divisions and will be where we had projected between 15 to 20 cars or better. We also are expecting to see new faces in the Slingshot and XCEL Modified classes. We also are looking at bringing in some additional classes.”
“
The Kart and Micro Stock program is also building strong car counts. Champ Karts have been leading the way with the Karts along with the Kid Kart class. Regular Open Kart classes are also building.

Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., June 9th, 2012: Bruce Leote made his second trip to Borger’s Speedway victory lane in Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprint action. From the drop of the green it was a three car battle for the lead with Leote, Rob Vivona, and Don Zrinski. As the top three battled side by side the veteran Don Zrinski made the pass on lap ten for second place. The remaining fifteen laps produced the hardest fought action in TQ racing this season at Borger’s. With Zrinski on Leote’s tail the laps ticked off with Leote edging Zrinski at the checkered flag. Rob Vivona, Glenn Heyerin, and Joe Prybelinski rounded out the top five.
Rob Vivona showed his rear bumper to the rest of the Hoosier Racing Tires Dirt Wingless 600 Sprints with Mike Fillbrunn and Jon Cortright in hot pursuit. On lap nineteen Joe Yaccarino made the pass for third and it would end with Vivona taking the win followed by Fillbrunn, Yaccarino, and Cortright.
All-star Slingshots saw Jason Harman return to victory lane followed by JR Fulper, John Bockhorn, and Justin Zucal.
Hoosier Racing tires XCEL 600 Modifieds saw Scott Washburn make it win number three followed by Kyle Locher, Tim VanHorn, and Roland Molnar.

BORGER'S 600 SPRINTS AND TQ'S
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., June 7th, 2012:
After being contacted by several TQ teams regarding the cost of racing Borgers Speedway is going to mandate the use of the factory rev limiter settings in the TQ division as well as using the Atlantic City indoor fuel specifications where exotic fuels are not permitted. The track is doing this in an effort to keep the cost of racing in line and help put the fun back in racing. If engine RPM’s are kept in check it will hopefully prevent engine failures and add longevity to one of each team’s largest single expenses, which is their engine program. The rev limiter provision will be a work in progress until a solid number can be established for each year of engine. If it is found that an engine configuration has a significant advantage an adjustment will be made to help keep everyone competitive. this isn’t any re-invention of the wheel. the Xcell Modifieds and 600 Micro sprints have had rev limiter specifications in place for years. The track is giving a two week grace period to teams to adjust to these rules.
Doug Borger will work with track officials on doing both fuel and rev limiter tech.
Each of the divisions appear to have a bit of a gentlemen’s agreement that has been helping everyone remain competitive and save money with regard to tires. We haven’t seen teams regularly putting on more than one sticker tire per race meet. Management of the speedway hopes to see that trend continue. It keeps costs in line when a team doesn’t feel like they need to put on 4 sticker tires each week in order to have a chance to win a race. as long as teams are following this guideline no specific rule limiting tires will be put in place.
The
goal is to keep the cost of racing in line. We all want to have a chance to
compete and win races. If it can be done in a way that is economical hopefully

Saylorsburg, PA., June 2nd, 2012: A first time winner and three repeat winners graced Borger's victory lane on a crisp, cool Saturday ushering in the summer racing season at Borger’s Speedway.
Darren Schuler became a first time winner in the Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Wingless Asphalt 600 feature event. Matt Janisch jumped to an early lead followed by Mike Tidaback and Darren Shuler until lap ten when Tidaback lost a motor. On the restart Janisch got over the wheel of Schuler and flipped wildly down the front straightaway bring out the red flag. On the restart Schuler took command and held the lead taking his first checkered flag of the 2012 season. Mike Trimble was second followed by Matt Janisch, Don Zrinski, and Mike Tidaback.
Jason Harman once again made his presence known in Borgers victory lane winning the AllStar Slingshot feature. Harman led the field to turn one followed by Bob Nenstiel and Justin Zucal. Vivona was first to turn one followed by Matt Janisch and Mike Fillbrunn. The top three spots stayed the same with Vivona and Janisch fighting for the lead until lap seventeen when Mike Fillbrunn was black flagged for leaking oil moving Mark Yoder to third. In the remaining laps Vivona and Janisch fought for the lead but Janisch ran out of laps and could not catch the high flying Vivona who led every lap. Janisch was second followed by Yoder, Joe Agnello, and Jon Cortright.

BORGER'S TIRE RULE
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., May 27th, 2012: There is absolutely no truth to the rumor going around that Borgers Speedway will be allowing Asphalt Slicks to be used starting in two weeks in the Wingless Dirt 600 Sprint class. Borgers Speedway would never change a rule like this without first discussing it with the drivers. Adjusting to the asphalt surface is a work in progress and so far tire wear has not been an issue. We are still racing on a green track and as the surface wears in changes could be made in the future to adjust. If at some point a change were to be made this would be phased in over a period of time to allow drivers to use the tires they have.
Our purpose of the Wingless Dirt 600 class is to allow a competitor that races at other tracks the opportunity to give Borgers a try with making a very minimal amount of changes to the car and not having to buy a set of tires just to try the track. If at some point tire wear would become excessive, which at this point is no more and in many cases less then tire wear that some dirt tracks are experiencing we will address the issue.
Also to clarify any misunderstanding pit passes and entry fee from the May 26 rainout will be honored one time within the next four races instead of the normal two race procedure. We understand people are traveling a great distance in some cases and can not always make it in the two week period.
Keep in mind Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints, TQ/Wingless Asphalt 600 Sprints, All-Star and Junior Slings, and XCEL 600 Modifieds are guaranteed at least $20 even if you don’t take the green plus $200 to win regardless of car count and up to $300 to win with car count. Junior Slingshots are excluded from the $200 to win.
MOTHER NATURE TAKES THE CHECKERED FLAG AT BORGER'S
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., May 26th, 2012: With 70 plus cars signed into the pits at Borgers Speedway Mother Nature turned out to be the only person to visit victory lane Saturday May 26. The largest field of the season had just started heats when the first severe cell hit the speedway. The storm knocked out power in the Saylorsburg area and the speedway generator also took a lightning strike tripping the breakers. Track crews had just dried the track as the power came back on and the area was hit by another severe storm canceling the show.
With only three heats completed management decided to scrub the entire show and start over next week. All entry fees will be good for next week only. Hold on to your pit pass wrist band as they must be used in the next four weeks instead of the normal two weeks.

Saylorsburg, PA., May 24th, 2012: After consulting with a number of drivers this past week Borgers Speedway has decided to change to a 63 inch rear tread width. This will be measured 63 inches from outside of the left rear tire to the outside of the right rear tire.
JANISCH SWEEPS SPRINTS & TQ'S. HARMAN & SCHERFF REPEAT.
MASKER FIRST TIME WINNER AT BORGER'S...
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., May 19th, 2012: To say Matt Janisch was hot on this hot afternoon is putting it mildly. Janisch swept the Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints and then returned to victory lane in the Three Quarter Midget feature.
Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints were first on Janisch’s hit list as Mike Fillbrunn coming off his first heat win lead the field to turn one. Soon Janisch was on Fillbrunn’s tail followed by Rob Vivona. Fillbrunn held the lead until lap 4 when Janmisch took control. As Janisch pulled away Fillbrunn and Vivona duked it out for second spot with Vivona making the pass at the half way mark. In the closing laps Vivona closed the gap on Janisch but Janisch held strong and took starter Bobby Stull’s checkered Flag. Vivona finished second followed by Fillbrunn, Joe Yaccarino, and Joe Agnello.
Stephen Boland took one of the most spectacular flips in the history of Borger’s Speedway in heat one. Boland was uninjured but now has the distinction of being the first person to flip on the Borger’s Speedway asphalt.
If winning the Dirt 600 Sprints was not enough Janisch came back to repeat his feat in the Hoosier Racing Tires TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprint main. Bruce Leote led the charge to turn one followed by Blu Metz and Matt Janisch. Janisch picked off Metz the next lap and had his sights set on Leote. As the two leaders battled side by side Janisch took over the lead on lap twelve and held it to the finish. Leote held the runner up spot followed by Metz, Rob Vivona, and Darren Schuler.
Jason Harman scored back to back wins in All Star Slingshots repeating his previous week’s win. Harman took the lead on lap one followed by Greg Zellman and Bob Nenstiel. As Harman increased his lead the battle was for second with Zellman and Nenstiel. Harman led every lap to take the win followed by Zellman, Nenstiel, and Mike Moyer.
Hoosier Racing Tires XCEL 600 Modifieds saw BJ Scherff return to victory lane for the second time this season. Right from the get go it was a Scherff-Washburn battle for the lead with the leaders swapping spots numerous times. In the closing laps Wasburn got into a lapped car on the backstretch but on the restart quickly moved through the pack to challenge Scherff. Scherff took the win followed by Washburn, Tim VAnHorn, Kyle Kocher, and Shawn Horning.
Isaih Masker took the Junior Slingshot win.
Next Saturday May 26 Borgers Speedway will have a Hot Dog and T-Shirt give away. Everyone entering the pits and the grandstand area will receive a ticket and numbers will be called out throughout the day for Hot Dogs and T-Shirts.

Saylorsburg, PA., May 12th, 2012: The transition from dirt to asphalt at Borgers Speedway has proved not to be near as drastic as many had feared. Rob Vivona said in victory lane last week the changes are very minimal. It is basically the dirt set up with a few tweaks here and there. This is why Borgers management created the Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints in order for a driver to take their car off the dirt and put it on asphalt with no major changes in set up and running dirt tires.
Bruce Leote took a Wingless 270 Sprint and converted it into a Three Quarter Midget and became the “Star of the Show” in the Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless TQ/Asphalt 600 Sprint feature. Leote was fast right off the trailer. In fact two tenths of a second faster then the rest of the field in practice. At the drop of the green it was Leote in the lead going to turn one followed by Blu Metz and Josh Dalrymple. As Metz and Dalrymple put the pressure on Leote it soon became a Leote and Metz battle for the lead. By lap five Brett Conkling made the pass for third and the top four positions stayed the same until lap nine when the yellow waved. A jumped start on the restart by Metz sent him back two spots moving Conkling to second and Dalrymple third. Metz driving like a man possessed made his way back to second in the closing laps but did not have enough for Leote. Leote took the checkered flag followed by Metz, Conking, Dalrymple, and Salvini.
In Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless Dirt 600 Sprints it was Rob Vivona making it three in a row. Vivona held the lead from the pole and never had a serious challenge. The real battle was for second place. Joe Agnello in his first race of the season drove a masterful race holding off a hard charging Jon Cortright, Jason Hentrick, Mike Fillbrunn, and Stephen Boland. Vivona led every lap of the nonstop race.
Jason Harman became the third different All-Star Slingshot winner in as many weeks. Ricky Raisner Jr. brought the field to the green flag and it was Raisner, Bob Nenstiel, and Harman. By lap three Harmon made the pass for second and last place starter JR Fulper was on the move. Lap four Harman took the lead as Fulper moved to third. Lap eight Fulper made the pass for second and had his sites set on Harman. As the laps wound down Fulper put the pressure on Harman but did not have enough to keep Harman from victory lane. Raisner finished third followed by Ton Henessey, and Mike Moyer.
Another first time winner in Hoosier Racing Tires XCEL 600 Modifieds found Scott Washburn in Borgers victory lane. Washburn held on to the lead for every lap of the non stop race and was chased to the finish line by Kermit Horning, Tim VanHorn, Lyele Kocher, and Shawn Horning.

Saylorsburg, PA., May 5th, 2012: The long haul from Syracuse, New York proved worthwhile as Chris Stockham took his first Hoosier Racing Tires Three Quarter Midget feature win on the Borger’s Speedway asphalt. Zack Martini led the first four laps with Stockham glued to his back bumper until lap five when Stockham made the pass for the lead. Stockham was not to be caught as he took the Blu Metz owned 01 to its first feature win. Martini was second.
The Hoosier Racing Tires XCEL 600 Modifieds lived up to their reputation of nonstop excitement as BJ Scherff made his first visit to Borgers Speedway victory lane. Last week’s winner Aaron Bowes led the field to the green flag but it was Doug Borger first to turn one. As Bowes took up chase Scott Washburn joined the hunt by lap four. By halfway Scherff was making his presence known as he joined the race for the lead. With two laps to go it looked like a win for Borger but Scherff had other ideas. As Borger slowed a bit and the leaders bunched up Scherff made a daring move in turn three and came out of turn four in the lead. Scherff took his first ever features win followed by Borger, Washburn, and Bowes. TQ feature winner Chris Stockham rounded out the top five.
All-Star Slingshot racer JR Fulper is no stranger to Borger’s Speedway victory lane but today would be his first win on asphalt. Bob Nenstiel led the way to turn one followed by Ricky Raisner Jr., and JR Fulper. Raisner took the lead from Nenstiel on lap four followed by Fulper. Raisner and Fulper staged a side by side battle until the halfway mark when Fulper took the lead. Fulper took the win followed by Raisner, Nenstiel, Steve Heckman, and Mike Moyer.
Rob Vivona had fun on the Borger’s Speedway dirt and is still having fun on the Borger’s Speedway asphalt as Vivona repeated his opening day win in the Hoosier Racing Tires Wingless 600 Dirt Sprints. Vivona held the lead from the pole and led every lap but the real battle was for second place. Jason Hentrick and Joe Yaccarino staged a hard fought battle for second place with Hentrick coming out on top in the end. In the closing laps Mark Fillbrunn made the pass on Yaccarino for third. Earlier in the day Filllbrunn, who has been plagued with misfortune, broke a motor mount and held the motor in place with a two by four block of wood and tie straps. The temporary fix worked as Fillbrunn finished third followed by Yaccarino and Ed Willberger Sr.

Saylorsburg, PA., April 11th, 2012: After a lengthy conversation with the insurance carrier these rules must be followed. This is a very critical issue and there can be no exceptions.
Only Snell sa2005 or newer helmets will be allowed. They specified this as extremely critical and no exceptions will be made.
Fire suits and gloves must be worn on all cars except the Open Karts. Cage Karts drivers must have a fire suit, gloves, and five point harness.
Neck collars are required for all drivers in all divisions. A Hans type device is highly recommended but not mandatory for all non Kart divisions.
All restraints must be five point harnesses and must be SFI Dated.
We would like to see some sort of restraint device over the top of the roll cage on all Wingless Open Wheel Cars to keep the driver inside the cage if the belts come loose. This is not mandatory at this point but we will discuss this during the practice sessions.
Minor’s releases are required for anyone 18 years and younger. We would like to have both parents signature but we will accept the parent who holds legal guardianship. A photo copy of the birth certificate must accompany the release. We will give a two week grace period on obtaining the birth certificate.
Safety is very important at Borgers Speedway and we will enforce these rules for everyone’s protection.
BORGER'S PAVING COMPLETE!
Co-Promoter & Media Contact Bob Snyder bobsnyderphoto@enter.net
Saylorsburg, PA., April 6th, 2012: The top coat of asphalt and the paving
of the infield at Borgers Speedway have been
completed and all is set for the first of two practice days Saturday April 14
and April 21 at
Speedway owner Glenn Borger, “It took us an extra week with the weather and the additional paving of the infield but I feel it is worth the wait. With the infield paved there will be no issues with dirt being drug onto the track from the infield.”
Creature comfort at Borgers Speedway will be a major concern for the 2012 racing season and speedway owner Glenn Borger has spared no expense. Borgers Speedway will have restrooms like no other racetracks in the area. Entering the restroom area race goers will find a spacious room with drinking fountains and diaper changing stations. This room will lead to large and well lighted men’s and women’s restrooms. The restrooms will be heated and air conditioned with two running water sinks in each restroom. Four separate stalls in each restroom and a handicap accessible stall should assure no long lines. Exhaust fans and a tile floor have also been installed. Glenn Borger, “Our restrooms will be more like a “5 Star Hotel” then the deplorable conditions you find at most racetracks. People will be in for a long day at Borgers Speedway and they deserve the very best.”
The paving of Borgers Speedway has opened up many challenges and many new opportunities. Co-promoter Bob Snyder, “My roots are in dirt track racing and I will always love the dirt tracks but times are changing. When I was a kid we did not care about getting dirty at a race. In fact the dirtier we got the more we loved it. At Borgers Speedway the neighbors forced us to pave the track but that may in the long run prove to be a blessing in disguise. This is just the start and big things will be happening at Borgers Speedway. We have something unique that no one else has, a 1/7 mile asphalt speedway. We also have an opportunity to build a spectator base which is almost non-existent at other small car tracks. New spectators coming into racing do not want to sit in the dust and the dirt. They also want creature comfort and this is what we will give them at Borgers Speedway.”
The two practice sessions Saturday April 14 and 21 will be free spectator admission to the grandstand. A pit pass of $20 will be required for anyone entering the pits but there will be no car entry fee.
Please disregard the weather traffic light on the Borgers web-site. This is not operational and will be discontinued, A Facebook link has been placed by the light. This link will take you directly to the Borgers Speedway Facebook page where all information, releases, and results will be available.
