Mother Nature wins at Borger’s Speedway
The final point night of 2008 was put on hold for 4 of the 5 classes at Borger’s Speedway. Rains came as the Slingshot division took the green flag for their main. The feature events will be held over until next week when they will be made up along with the scheduled time trial show for all divisions.
The rains had to wait for AJ Gearhart! AJ picked up his first career Lentini Auto Salvage Junior Slingshot feature event. Gearhart started the twenty lap race in the fourth position and settled into second for most of the first half. On lap thirteen, Gearhart made the move and passed race leader Dillion Martin for the lead. Gearhart led the remaining seven laps and fought off the hard charge of Brett Hoffmaster to claim the win.
Saylorsburg, PA’s Brandon Azzalina was crowned the 2008 Lentini Auto Salvage Junior Slingshot champion. Azzalina edged out Brett Hoffmaster by 28 points.
